Pre, Mid and Final Training Exams
SEMPA and the SEMPA Postgraduate Education Committee are pleased to offer standardized electronic exams to help objectively track the progress of postgraduate emergency medicine trainees and early career EMPAs. The exam questions were developed and graciously shared by Rosh Review.
The pre training and mid training exams have 100 questions and we recommend giving two hours to complete. The final exam has 198 questions and we recommend giving four hours to complete. We also recommend that these exams are proctored to maintain the integrity and accuracy of results.
These exams are offered on the Microsoft Forms platform which allows us to make them free of cost. We strongly encourage programs and institutions who use these exams to create a Microsoft account with access to Forms to make distribution and management of these exams easy and efficient.
Filling out and submitting this electronic form will allow us to share the pre-training, mid-training and final exam with your group. We will also include a User Guide to help with beginning to distribute and manage the exams. Once we share a copy of the exam templates, you will then maintain ownership for those exams and be in control of distributing to trainees and managing your program or institutional score data from there forward. We will also share the pre, mid and final exams in a Word format. We recommend using a paper copy of the answer document during an office hour for trainees to review their exams and see detailed explanations of answers. DO NOT GIVE TRAINEES OR OTHER LEARNERS UNPROCTORED ACCESS TO THE ANSWER SHEETS.
If you would like to distribute the pre, mid or final training exam in a platform other than Microsoft Forms, you are welcome to do so with the Word documents.
