2025 SEMPA 360 Annual Conference

Statement of Need

The field of emergency medicine is constantly evolving within a rapidly changing social and healthcare landscape. Advancements in research are reshaping the way emergency care providers approach patient care, challenging long-standing practices and redefining accepted standards. As a result, knowledge gaps have emerged among clinicians delivering emergency care. The 2025 SEMPA 360 Annual Conference aims to bridge these gaps by equipping emergency medicine professionals with the latest insights and expertise needed to enhance patient care.

Target Audience

This program has been designed to include all emergency medicine professionals including physician assistants, physicians, nurse practitioners, and other members of the Emergency Medicine Healthcare Team.

Overall Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, the learner should be able to:

  • Recognize and identify the most common injuries and situations associated with the current trends of emergency medicine and standards of care that apply to each
  • Apply hands on techniques and procedures learned in a simulated setting
  • Recognize and describe the common types of patients present in an emergency setting, the chief complaints and/or injuries affecting those patients, common remote and/or austere emergency environments, and the various aspects each can have on successful patient care.
  • Differentiate between new treatment methods and skills, and demonstrate competence in how and when to utilize each when faced with each of the various combinations of patient/injury/environment
