Fellow

Eligibility: An emergency medicine physician assistant who graduated from an ARC-PA Accredited PA Program and is working in emergency medicine or urgent care, or is involved in research and/or teaching pertaining to emergency medicine.
Privileges: Fellow members shall be eligible to hold office and shall have full voting rights.
Dues: $160 - 1 Year
$295 - 2 Years (10% savings)

Military

      Eligibility: An emergency medicine physician assistant who graduated from an ARC-PA Accredited PA Program, is Active Duty with the U.S. Military, Coast Guard or National Guard and is working in emergency medicine or urgent care, or is involved in research and/or teaching pertaining to emergency medicine.
       Privileges: Military members shall be eligible to hold office and shall have full voting rights.
 Dues: $50 - 1 Year


Associate

Eligibility: An individual who is not eligible to be a Fellow member but has an interest in the field of emergency medicine physician assistants.
Privileges: Associate members shall be entitled to participate in all SEMPA activities, committees, and petitions to the Board but are not eligible for election to the Board of Directors. Associate members shall have no voting rights.
Dues: $180 - 1 Year
$340 - 2 Years (5% savings)

International

Eligibility: An EMPA who is not a resident of the U.S. and is licensed to practice medicine by the government or accrediting entity where he or she resides and practices.
Privileges: International members shall be entitled to participate in all SEMPA activities, committees, and petitions to the Board but are not eligible for election to the Board of Directors. International members shall have no voting rights.
Dues: $110 - 1 Year
$209 - 2 Years (5% savings)


Student

Eligibility: A student currently enrolled in a ARC-PA Accredited Program with an interest in emergency medicine.
Privileges: Student members shall be entitled to participate in all SEMPA activities, committees, and petitions to the Board but are not eligible for election to the Board of Directors. Student members shall have no voting rights.
Dues: $25 per year

Resident

Eligibility: A resident currently enrolled in a PA emergency medicine program.
Privileges: Resident members shall be entitled to participate in all SEMPA activities, committees, and petitions to the Board but are not eligible for election to the Board of Directors. Resident members shall have full voting rights.
Dues: $50 per year

NP Resident

Eligibility: A nurse practitioner that is currently enrolled in a PA and NP postgraduate emergency medicine residency or fellowship program.
Privileges: NP Resident members shall be entitled to participate in all SEMPA activities, committees, and petitions to the Board but are not eligible for election to the Board of Directors. NP Resident  members shall have no voting rights.
Dues: $50 per year

Graduate

Eligibility: A physician assistant who has graduated from an ARC-PA Accredited PA Program or a PA Emergency Medicine Postgraduate Residency or Fellowship within the last 12 months and is actively seeking work in or has begun to work in emergency medicine, urgent care or is involved in research and/or teaching pertaining to emergency medicine.
Privileges: Graduate members shall be entitled to participate in all SEMPA activities, committees, and petitions to the Board but are not eligible for election to the Board of Directors. Graduate members shall have full voting rights.
Dues: $75 for one (1) year only

Life Member

Eligibility: A Life member is conferred upon request of any member in good standing who has practiced emergency medicine for a minimum of 10 years, and maintained SEMPA membership for at least 10 years, and who remains committed to the mission and goals of the organization, but who will no longer be practicing in emergency medicine. The Board may, at its discretion, honor other members with Life Membership.
Dues: $82.50 per year

 

SEMPA dues are nonrefundable and are not deductible as charitable contributions for income tax purposes. However, they may be tax deductible as ordinary and necessary business expenses subject to restrictions imposed as a result of association lobbying activities. Dues rates are subject to change based on the Board of Directors' actions.
