Curriculum:
Our program offers the opportunity to learn from our experts across multiple sites for training in a diverse clinical environment. These sites range in size from 30,000 to 90,000 visits. Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center (GSHMC) is the primary teaching site. GSHMC is an academic medical center, ACS verified Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and has a dedicated Pediatric ED. Other clinical sites provide the opportunity to train in a variety of emergency medicine environments. Our program includes didactic lectures that cover the content of the Model of the Clinical Practice of Emergency Medicine. Training includes ACLS, PALS, ATLS certifications, emergency ultrasound, simulation-based learning and an emergency airway course. The clinical rotations include an Emergency Department based program with clinical training in the main Emergency Department, FastTrack, Pediatrics and Observation Medicine units.
