EM Academy was a three-phase course jointly hosted by the Society of Emergency Phycian Assistants (SEMPA) and the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) that provided evidence-based topics, risk management/mitigation strategies, skills labs/simulations for commonly encountered procedures, critical care training and focused on intensive time spent with live instructors during the courses.
EM Academy was designed around the emergency medicine scope of practice for:
- Recent medical school graduates interested in emergency medicine or urgent care
- PAs transitioning into emergency medicine
- Any clinician who wanted to enhance their didactic knowledge in emergency medicine.
As a member benefit, SEMPA members have access to the Phase 1 didactic sessions, which consisted of 71 30-minute video lectures on core emergency medicine topics including:
