Clement J. Zablocki Veterans Affairs Medical Center: Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant Post Graduate Residency

Program Description: This 12-month long emergency medicine post-graduate residency program provides advanced knowledge and experience in adult emergency medicine as well as teaches skills to provide care for patients of all acuity levels, trauma patients, mental health emergencies and so much more. PA residents will attend emergency medicine grand rounds with the emergency medicine physician residents at our academic affiliate Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin. They will also complete 2 months of rotations at this Level 1 trauma center. In addition to rotations and didactic lectures, there is also dedicated simulation, ultrasound, and procedure training time each week. The mission of our residency program is to expand the knowledge base and clinical skills of PAs in the specialty of emergency medicine while serving our nation’s veterans.
